8th CHIMERA 2025 ~ Guidelines

Namaskar! We are happy to meet you here and equally delighted to know about your interest in joining the 8th CHIMERA 2025. This year, CHIMERA will shine with various levels of participations and cultural exploration. The competitions are open for both solo and group participation from Nursery to Post Graduate Level (refer to competition details carefully) and Youth Category (Post Master's Degree to 29 years of age). Competitions will be held in:

  1. GUWAHATI: October 24th to 26th, 2025 

  2. JORHAT: October 25th to 26th, 2025

Cultural Extravaganza & Prize Distribution Ceremony: OCTOBER 30, 2025

ONLINE PARTICIPANTS PARTICIPATING IN DANCE/VOCAL MUSIC/INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC/THEATRE/DRAMA/ACTING/YOGA SHOULD SUBMIT THEIR COMPETITION RELATED VIDEO LATEST BY OCTOBER 24, 2025 TILL 11:55 PM. They need to mail their video content to chimera@amrapalisociety.org via www.wetransfer.com. No video submissions will be accepted after October 24, 2025 ; 11:55 pm even though they have registered themselves for the 8th CHIMERA 2025. Since there is no difference for judgement for online and offline participants, hence we require to submit these video submissions for judgement. 

TIPS: Always adhere to the rules and regulations set for different competitions. Try to showcase your best potential till the maximum time allotted. Appear with appropriate costumes, attire and uniform wherever required and demanded during the event. Participants must ensure proper and adequate utilities required for and during their competition like music track, props, colours/paint, writing pen/pencil, etc.

Competiton Guidelines

COMPETITION REGISTRATION:

  • All registrations will be considered confirmed only after the payment of the participating categories are completed. Registration fee once made cannot be refunded but can be adjusted with another competition with the same fee.

  • Competitions are scheduled in:

    • Guwahati: October 24th to 26th, 2025

    • ​Jorhat: October 25th to 26th, 2025
  • Competition dates, venues and timings will be updated on our Facebook, Instagram and website. 

  • THE REGISTRATION FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE. 

  • REGISTRATION FOR THE COMPETITION CLOSES ON October 23, 2025 at 11:55 pm

 

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Competitions: Nursery to Master's Degree level and Youth Category (post Master's Degree to 29 years of age).

  • Youth Seminar: Graduation to Youth Category (Seminar topic will be disclosed to participating institutions who will be sending their selected delegate. Participants under Youth Category may mail us at chimera@amrapalisociety.org showing interest in the same)

  • Exhibition: Class VIII to PG Level (Topics: Arts, Culture, Heritage, Socio-Cultural responsibilities, Tourism, Youth Empowerment)

COMPETITION DURATION:

 

  • DANCE/VOCAL/INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC: Minimum 6 mins. ~ Maximum 8 mins.

  • YOGA: 4 mins.

  • THEATRE:

  1. Mime and Mono Acting: 5 mins.

  2. Drama (group): 10 mins

  • RECITATION:

  1. Story Telling, Elocution, Poem Recitation: 5 mins 

  2. Shloka Recitation: 3 mins.

  • WRITING SKILL:

  1. Calligraphy: 30 mins.

  2. Short Story Writing, Feature Writing, Poem Writing: 90 mins.

 

  • VISUAL ARTS:

  1. Art-Painting-Collage, Craft Work, Pottery Painting, Clay Modelling, Mehendi Design, Rangoli Making, Salad Decoration: 90 mins

  2. Flower Arrangement, Greeting Card Making: 60 mins.

  • BIG ART: Group Rangoli Making and Art and Craft: 120 mins.

  • COLOURING + HANDWRITING: 30 mins.

IMPORTANT POINTS:

  • Writing papers will be issued by us to the participants of Writing Skills, Visual Arts, Colouring and Handwriting. 

  • No extra time will be given after the maximum time allotted. Incurring extra time will lead to the disqualification of the participant. 

  • Dance/Vocal/Instrumental Music/Yoga/Theatre participants must adhere to appropriate costume/attire with essentials like Ghungroo, musical instruments, track music, etc. They need not wear school/college uniforms. Participants carrying music track/Karaoke music must ensure proper play of their music in case they are performing on track music. LIVE or Track Music is permitted for their presentation. They must not play their tracks directly from the internet. They need to bring their music in both a pen drive and mobile phone as a standby to avoid disruption at the last moment. They must tune their musical instrument(s) prior to their performance.

    • No obscene/vulgur body moves, lyrics and tones will be permitted in the performance.

    • Item songs, item dances, vulgar moves and anti-national elements are strictly prohibited in the competition. Students displaying such acts will be disqualified. 

  • Participants taking part in categories apart from Dance/Vocal/Instrumental Music/Yoga/Theatre must wear their school/college/university uniform with their valid ID card at all times during the competition. 

  • For group participation: Minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 participants are permitted. Participants may vary in age in one group within stipulated and mentioned age groups.
